After Doing This (〜てから)
てから attaches to a verb’s て-form and says “after doing this, then that.” It’s built from the same て-form connector you already know, plus から, marking a firm sequence rather than just a loose list of actions.
Takuya watches the news, then goes to the office.
I make coffee, then read my email.
In Real Life
Plain て just links actions loosely, “I did this and that,” without insisting on order. てから locks the sequence in place: the first action has to finish before the second one starts, which matters when the order itself is the point.
You should make a reservation before you go.
Ever since I first watched Japanese anime, I've loved it.
In Real Life
てからずっと adds “ever since,” stretching the sequence from that first action all the way to now, a common pattern for describing how a habit or feeling got started.
